work in the finance department.
The
company’s European Publishing division is growing
rapidly across 8 countries, such as the U.S., Canada,
the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia,
Scandinavia, Spain and the Netherlands.
Person Specification
Position:
European Accounting Assistant
Department: Finance
Responsible
to: European Accounting Manager
Job
purpose: This position’s basic function is to support
the Finance Department with routine duties and non-routine
duties with emphasis on general ledger account reconciliations,
journal entry postings and module closing, as well
as special projects.
1. Key Responsibilities
1.
Account Reconciliations 40%
2.
Month-End related activities, including J.E. postings
30%
3. Maintaining Fixed Asset Register 20%
4.
Special projects 10%
2.
Managerial Responsibilities None.
3.
Training and Development Responsibilities (include
self development and training of others if applicable)
4.
Position Duties: Duties will include, but not limited
to
- •
Prepare account reconciliations for certain ledger
accounts.

• Prepare monthly journal entries.

• Upload and manually enter Journal Entries.

• Assist and provide back up support to the European
Financial Accountant and UK Commercial Finance Manager
as required

• Special Projects – support European Oracle upgrade
process

Qualifications
/ Training (appropriate to the job)
Minimum
of 5 GCSE’s (including English and Maths) and 2 A-Levels
(or equivalent) ACCA/CIMA part qualified (Our Client
will provide support to the candidate with study)E
Knowledge/Experience / Skills / Abilities (appropriate
to the job)E
Comfortable with Excel, Word, Windows based programs.E
Prior Oracle experience.D
Minimum
2 years financial accounting experience. E
Good
written and oral communication ability. E
Ability
to deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously.
