expanding corporation based in Windsor is looking
to recruit an experienced AUDIT MANAGER.
POSITION
Job Title: Audit Manager
1. Purpose of Job
1.1 To manage and motivate
a team of circa 15 staff at levels from student to
qualified grade
1.2 To help develop
and lead the department in both quality and delivery
with the others in the manager team
1.3 To report to the
Head of Business Service
1.4 To help in the
growth of the department of 10% compound targeted
1.5 To manage a portfolio
of clients in respect of their audit and accounts
requirements
2. Principal Responsibilities
2.1 Managing client
and third party relationships from initial set up
meetings, liaising with other accountants, to on going
service issues: building trust and monitoring service
standards: responding quickly to client needs.
2.2 Providing accounting
solutions through knowledge of UK GAAP and UK tax
to ensure clients manage their business in the most
tax efficient manner.
2.3 Profitable development
of business by assisting in the winning of new clients:
cross selling additional services and introducing
other service lines: securing ongoing and recurring
work from clients.
2.4 Managing Business
Services team by scheduling, supervising and reviewing
work to ensure appropriate standard. Coaching and
developing and conducting appropriate reviews and
appraisals.
2.5 Managing value and
avoiding risk through timely planning and resourcing,
appropriate researching and billing work in progress.
2.6 Reporting to directors:
managing within authority limits: reporting appropriate
results and statistics, attending management meetings,
etc.
2.7 Performing various
ad hoc projects.
3. Accountabilities/Key
Performance Indicators
3.1 Client deadlines
are met or exceeded (client awareness and service,
listening, planning and organising)
3.2 High quality accounting
service provided to all clients (client awareness
and service, technical)
3.3 WIP process managed
effectively ensuring department remains within budget
(planning and organising, management control)
3.4 Team development
(teamworking, staff development)
4. Qualification/Attributes
4.1 ACA/ACCA qualified
with 3 years post qualification experience not necessarily
at a management position but must be in a supervisory
role within the audit department of an accountancy
practice
4.2 Motivated to provide
the highest quality service to clients through effective
management of the team
4.3 Excellent communication
skills, both written and verbal with an ability to
liaise with people at all levels
4.4 Excellent organisational
skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
for self and other members of the team
4.5 Strong people management
skills
4.6 Strong IT skills
